In episode three LA street artists launch a campaign against the 4,000 illegal billboards in their community. Artists include Cyrcle, Desire Obtain Cherish (DOC), War N Buff It, Destroy All Design, Septerhed, Leba, and John Carlos De Luna.
In episode four Daniel Lahoda, founder of the LA Freewalls Project, takes us on a tour walls he has helped curate in downtown Los Angeles including murals by Swoon, Risk, How and Nosm.

With just one spot of red paint between the eyes the Parisian artist ZEVS, executes the advertising industry’s images of perfect humans. ‘People don’t think about the force of advertising,’ says Zevs and continues, ‘But with just one psst I remove the force. No one wants to be identified with a dead person so advertising looses its effect’. ZEVS calls his action ‘Visual Attack’, and he has executed billboards worth millions around Paris. At the same time, ZEVS is a respected artist who exhibits all around the world. “Inside Outside” follows ZEVS and other street artists from New York, Stockholm, Copenhagen and São Paulo. They all make a living off their art, but they also have an urge to exhibit their work illegally in the streets. Video features Ron English, Zevs, Swoon, Earsnot, Os Gemeos, KR and many others.

OUTSIDE IN is a celebratory and historical look at street art and graffiti through the lens of the Museum of Contemporary Art’s groundbreaking exhibition Art in the Streets. The film features renowned artists Shepard Fairey, Lee Quiñones, Swoon, Futura, Mister Cartoon, Revok, Martha Cooper, Invader to name a few. Director Alex Stapleton (Corman’s World: Exploits of a Hollywood Rebel) documents the artist’s creative process, their pitfalls with the law, the poetic impermanence of their craft and the artists’ evolution from the back seat of a cop car to the walls of a well-respected institution. Filmed at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA) in conjunction with the exhibition Art in the Streets.

WKE writes… “SWOON is a street artist from New York City who specializes in life-size wheat-paste prints and paper cutouts. SWOON, whose real name is Caledonia “Callie” Curry, studied painting at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and started doing street art around 1999. Our cameras follow her around her native Brooklyn one afternoon as she puts up pieces in the street and talks about her work.”
Swoon goes big at the New Orleans Museum of Art.
