Stefan Glerum (1983) lives and works in Amsterdam. He spent four years in Breda studying illustration at the Academy St. Joost. He also worked as an assistant to one of the country’s most celebrated comic artists, Joost Swarte. Stefan Glerum’s style is like a melting pot of illustration heritage. While its subconscious familiarity has universal appeal, his work is also a study point for those with knowledge of graphic design history. His work is inspired by early 20th Century movements such as Art Deco, Bauhaus, Italian Futurism and Russian Constructivism, which he combines with popular themes, executed in a style reminiscent of the clear line.
OUTSIDE IN is a celebratory and historical look at street art and graffiti through the lens of the Museum of Contemporary Art’s groundbreaking exhibition Art in the Streets. The film features renowned artists Shepard Fairey, Lee Quiñones, Swoon, Futura, Mister Cartoon, Revok, Martha Cooper, Invader to name a few. Director Alex Stapleton (Corman’s World: Exploits of a Hollywood Rebel) documents the artist’s creative process, their pitfalls with the law, the poetic impermanence of their craft and the artists’ evolution from the back seat of a cop car to the walls of a well-respected institution. Filmed at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA) in conjunction with the exhibition Art in the Streets.
Obey Clothing writes… “OBEY Clothing teamed up with Curtis Kulig, the man behind the infamous Love Me tag. Curtis is a long time friend of OBEY and we thought a collaboration would be a great way to finally work together. Jon and Steve T. caught up with Curtis in NY to get a look into what he’s been up to and to get some insight into the OBEY x LOVE ME project.”

In late July of 2011, Shepard Fairey and his team headed to Copenhagen for a solo exhibition at the V1 Gallery. We decided to document the trip in hopes of capturing a behind the scenes look into the preparation for the show. The show itself was a huge success but a lot of crazy stuff happened along the way. The following videos are a very honest look at the highs and lows of the experience. This is episode 1. Hope you enjoy it!
